My heart needs to grow, my faith needs to show
My soul needs your holy instruction.
My life needs to heal, my spirit to kneel,
I’m a Christian under construction.
And I know that you’re trying to show me your way.
Yet you still give me the choice.
Of turning aside and walking away,
Or choosing to follow the sound of your voice.
Of hearing you calling and choosing to follow your voice.
A foundation of prayer, a framework of care
Windows of love and compassion.
Walls built with trust, faith and hope must
Continue your holy construction.
And I know that you’re trying to show me your way.
