Dry Bones

We’re standing in the valley, Lord, looking at dry bones
We hear your question, “Can these dry bones live?”
And when we say, “We do not know.” You tell us then, “Rise up and go!”
And tell these bones that I have life to give

Then as we speak Your Word these bones begin to creak and groan
They slowly rise and then begin to gather
Still needing life they join together adding flesh to bone
Then in your Spirit life begins to matter

Chorus:
Take these dead and dry bones, Lord.
Knit them together with wind and a word.
Give them breath and life, a second chance.
And Lord, we ask for more than life, with daily struggles, trials and strife.
O God we ask you, Make these dry bones dance

Bridge:
Help us dance, O Lord, help us make these dry bones dance
Energize our hearts. Animate our hands.
Fill our mouths with praise and help us to enhance
Your Kingdom, God,   Help our dry bones dance!

And now we have your Spirit, Lord, and the Spirit lets us know
That simply living does not Your plan advance
You’ve joined these bones for a purpose, God, to pray, to learn to love to grow
To find new valleys… and teach them how to dance!
